Product Review: Pretty Animalz Tiger Moisturizing Sheet Mask

Happy Thursday, everyone!! You guys know I love sheet masks. What better way to relax than to put on a mask, lay down on the bed, put in your earbuds and listen to some great music for 20-30 minutes? I always have to set a timer - just in case I fall asleep!

I'm hoping that my recent rosacea diagnosis won't keep me from enjoying face masks. (You can read more in my post about the five important things I've learned about rosacea since my diagnosis.) I think I'll be okay as long as I'm diligent about checking the ingredient lists. Fingers crossed!

Pretty Animalz Tiger sheet mask

A little over a month ago (before the rosacea diagnosis) I received the Pretty Animalz Tiger Moisturizing Sheet Mask by Masque Bar in one of my Target Beauty Boxes. I had read about these masks but had never tried one.

There are 16 different Animalz masks:
  • Cat Energizing Mask
  • Fox Brightening Mask
  • Penguin Purifying Mask
  • Monkey Nourishing Mask
  • Panda Calming Mask
  • Otter Nourishing Mask
  • Pig Hydrating Mask
  • Tiger Moisturizing Mask
  • Raccoon Firming Mask
  • Zebra Hydrating Mask
  • Puppy Pore Control Mask
  • Dragon Vitalizing Mask
  • Cow Milk Nourishing Mask
  • Unicorn Anti-Blemish Mask
  • Owl Hydrating Mask
  • Narwhal Clarifying Mask

I don't know if they're all available at Target. If I had to guess I would say probably not in the stores, but maybe online?

I have to admit that the tiger mask was pretty cute. And it made me want to see what the other ones look like! Unfortunately, for me, the cuteness was the best thing about it.

Pretty Animalz Tiger moisturizing sheet mask ingredients/directions

The fourth ingredient is denatured alcohol, and fragrance is also on the list. This is the first mask for which I've seen the warning: "Avoid using on skin which is sensitive to bandages or tapes." I'm not sure what that's about? I do have issues with adhesive, but only after it's been on my skin for several hours. I decided to go ahead and try the mask, with the intention of removing it at the first sign of stinging or burning.

The "fabric" is stiff, which made it difficult to conform to my face, and that was annoying. Your skin can't absorb any of the good stuff if the mask isn't actually on your skin.

Pretty Animalz Tiger sheet mask is pretty cute!

The instructions say to leave on 10-20 minutes. I only left it on for 10 minutes, and during that time I didn't have any problems with irritation. But I didn't feel like it did anything positive for my skin either. If I'm being generous, I would say that my skin was a little more hydrated, but that hydration didn't last long.

On the positive side, they are only $3.99. So while I wouldn't purchase them again, I could see them being a big hit at a teen sleepover or girls spa night for those who don't have sensitive skin.

Have you tried any of the Pretty Animalz sheet masks? What did you think? Do you have a favorite sheet mask? I'm always looking for new products to try, so let me know in the comments here, on Instagram, or Snapchat!

  1. I tried this from a Target box as well, but wasn't too impressed either. I've tried better masks out there.

    1. You’re so right, Lupe - there are much better masks out there - especially if you’re using masks as a treatment! I feel like this one is targeting those 25 and under - it’s not really doing anything great for your skin but it’s cute. I’m sure that appeals to those who don’t need serious skincare. I’d rather spend a little more and get something that is truly beneficial.
