Here's what happened on Instagram last week:
I talked a little about these shoes last week, but you couldn't see them very well in the photo I posted, so I shared another picture of them. I really, really love this shoe style! I hope it sticks around for awhile. I mentioned this last week, but I'll say it again - these shoes are by Topshop, and I picked them up at Nordstrom back in December when they were on sale for 50% off. The style is called 'Fancy', and they are a pointed toe ghillie flat. They still have a few sizes available (and it changes almost daily), and they're full price right now ($48). I ordered my regular shoe size, and they were a little snug on the first wearing. They did loosen up a bit, and are more comfy now. These shoes are sized a bit odd in that they're only available in half sizes (6.5, 7.5, etc), and you can only go up or down a whole size. So that's why I didn't go up a whole size - they would've been too big. I just kept these and hoped they would break in as I wore them, and they did.
When I saw that Zulily had kid-sized Toms on sale a couple of weeks ago, I ordered a pair of sparkly pink ones for my sweet little great niece, Princess Izzy. They arrived on Tuesday, so I had to snap a photo of them! So adorable! Every princess should have a pair of pink sparkly shoes! I got a great price, too. The shoes normally sell for $36, and I only paid $19.99.
I shared a photo of color swatches of the Amuse Bouche lippies that I received from Influenster and Bite Beauty. There are three shades: Gazpacho, Pepper, and Beetroot. I've talked about them before, so I won't go into too much detail - but you can read my review here.
With all that's been going on with Gus's parents', we didn't get a chance to celebrate Buddy's birthday on the actual day. So when Lulu and Bart were in town, we went out for a family dinner. Of course, it happened to be on one of the coldest days we've had so far this winter! We snapped this family photo in downtown Cincy on Fountain Square, and it was all we could do to stand there long enough to get the shot! Brrrrr! I didn't even notice until later that Buddy's shirt matched my scarf! I love the buffalo plaid trend, and picked that scarf up at the Bass outlet for just $12 (orig $50). The coat is one of my favorites, but it's several years old and no longer available (similar here
On Friday, I did a plug for my blog post that day - Making 2016 Spring Fashion Trends Work for You. I really enjoyed writing that post! I love fashion, and I'm pretty happy with most of the trends right now. Plus I feel like as I've gotten older, I've become more comfortable with my own style, so it's easier to put my own spin on trends. You can read my tips here!
Getting happy mail is awesome!! Especially when it's from Sephora! I picked up the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench & Drench Lip Set (VIB Rouge/VIB exclusive) and also Life's Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit from Benefit - as well as some great samples! Can't wait to give them a try - and of course, I'll be sharing my review on the blog, so stay tuned for that.
On Saturday, Gus and I went out to dinner at TGIFriday's. My favorite adult beverage there is the Double Berry Mojito. They serve it in a shaker, so you actually end up getting enough for two glasses, which is great. It's made with Bacardi Rum, fresh strawberry puree, raspberries, lime juice, lemon juice, and pure cane sugar. Yum!!
And that wraps up this week's (well technically last week's) Instagram recap! If we're not already connected on social media, let's fix that right now! Thanks for joining me - and have a great week!
