Omg! How do you do them all!?! I'm having a tough time trying to figure them all out. Some of the big bloggers do these, and then when I follow the steps, no none seems to respond or acknowledge. What's the secret I'm missing?
LOL, Wendy! I don't always do every one every week, but I at least do 90%. I have seen a huge increase in my reader/followers since I started doing this. As far as no one commenting on your links, my guess is that it's because you're linking up at "big" parties. Yes, they have more readers - but there are also more entries, making it less likely that someone is going to click on yours. I used to link up at a party that usually had over 600 entries per week - and I was even featured there once. But it wasn't building my reader base - and that is what it's all about - so I don't link up there anymore. I think the largest link party I "attend" now has around 200-250 links, and most have around 100-150. The other advice I would give is to reach out to other bloggers - and be sure to comment/thank your host so that they get to know you, too. It IS work - but it's worth it if you want to grow your blog!
Thanks for your great response! I'm only sorry I am just now seeing it. Geez. Do I have to ask to be contacted with each reply, or do I have to keep track and go back to check manually? I really need lessons in this. I have the time, I just get overwhelmed trying to get the right post up, and keep them going. I have many ideas and projects/DIY to do, but I don't know where to start at times.
I thought you automatically received a notification when there was a reply to your comment. Maybe it went to your junk/spam folder or was accidentally overlooked/deleted?
I am so glad you listed these. I like what you mentioned about linking up to "big" parties. I think that may be my problem. Also, the time of day that I link up. I have to make it a point to remember so I'm not the last to "show up" to these things. As the saying "It's better late than never" goes, it does not really apply to linky parties. LOL!
Dee, I keep a list of the parties I attend, and they're sorted by day and time. I don't always get there as they open, but it's a reminder - so if I happen to be by my computer, I can pop over and enter a couple of project links. If you don't know what time the parties start, sometimes you can find out by looking on the blog post for the time the post went live. Hope that helps!
I thought I replied a long time ago, Kimberly, but I guess I didn't! Sorry!! I did add your button - I put it under Monday since you usually start the linkup on Monday night, right?
I was wondering if you would add my linkup party to your list? It's for Etsy sellers only to pin a couple of their items on Pinterest :) You can find the button here at the bottom: http://zzzonkowl.blogspot.com/2014/08/pin-share-your-etsy-2.html
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, Shelly. Do you mean how do you remember when the parties are so you can link up? You said "follow" and "read", so I was confused by what you meant.

I wasn't sure what day it started - it looked like Thursday? So I put it under Thursday. Let me know if that's not right.
