Philips Sonicare PowerUp Toothbrush Giveaway!
I've always used a manual toothbrush, but unfortunately, I now have to deal with chronic neck and arm pain that limits my ability to use toothbrush effectively. The first thing I've always done after hopping out of bed in the morning is brush my teeth. I'm almost obsessive about it. I actually look forward to going to the dentist every six months because I love that just-from-the-dentist clean. So I recently purchased a Philips Sonicare PowerUp Toothbrush at Walmart for under $20, hoping that it would be the answer to my brushing problems.
I really wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on a battery-operated toothbrush. But one of the first things I noticed on the front of the package was "the #1 Recommended Brand by Dental Professionals". That's pretty impressive - and went a long way towards convincing me that this was the toothbrush for me.
And then I saw that the package also said "A month's worth of brush strokes in a day". Seriously? That HAS to result in cleaner-than-usual teeth!
As I mentioned, I have always used a manual toothbrush - one with a compact head and soft bristles. I tried to find the Sonicare PowerUp with soft bristles, but they only had the regular one at my Walmart. I did see that there are replacement heads (packs of 3) in both soft and regular, so I figured I could buy soft ones later if I needed them.
After just the first use, I was in love! The brush head is slim enough that it was easy to reach all of my back teeth. And the regular head wasn't too firm for my gums - I didn't notice any bleeding or sensitivity. But best of all - my teeth felt just-from-the-dentist clean! The vibration takes a little getting used to, but once I had used the Sonicare PowerUp a few times, I didn't even notice. And - no arm or neck pain!!
Another great feature? The Sonicare PowerUp automatically turns off after 2 minutes of brushing - which just happens to be the recommended length of time to brush your teeth! I love it!! I wish my kids had had these when they were little. But you know what? I love mine so much, I'm going to buy 3 more for the rest of my family!
I can't wait for my next visit to the dentist - I'm anxious to see if they notice a difference in the amount of plaque in those typically hard-to-reach areas!
