According to the St. Tropez website:
"This lightweight cream simply smoothes on to give you an instant, even, beautifully golden tan that will wash off whenever you choose. Simply smooth on from top to toe using your palms, an Applicator Mitt or latex gloves for maximum, even coverage."
Here's what it looks like:
Consistency: This lotion has a thinner consistency. It's a coffee-brown color with a little gold shimmer. You really must apply with a mitt or gloves because it will stain your palms. IT. WILL. REALLY. STAIN. YOUR. PALMS. I used vinyl gloves to apply to my arms & legs, and a buffer brush for my hands & feet. It applies fairly easily, but you need to take a little care to make sure it's even.
Fragrance: I really didn't notice much fragrance.
How it looks after applied: Below, you'll see pictures of my hand both before and after the St. Tropez product. It's really a pretty neutral-looking brown with a little shimmer. I don't think it would do much to really pale skin unless you used more than one coat. I didn't try that, so I'm not sure how well it layers.
One thing that is important to me in my bronzers is water-resistance. I knew from talking with St. Tropez customer service that it wasn't water-resistant, but I wanted to see just how easily it could be washed off. I held my hand under running water for 20 seconds - I did not use soap, I did not rub my skin - then I wiped a dry paper towel across my hand. This is what happened:
As you can see, it's pretty easy to remove this product with just water. I wouldn't recommend using this product at the pool or beach - or when rain is expected. However, I did NOT notice any rub-off on my clothing.

Size/Price: This product is available in a 5 oz. tube for $18.
Repurchase? I'm not sure. I do like the neutral brown color - it's pretty natural-looking. I think the price is pretty reasonable for the amount you get. But I hate how easily it is removed with just a splash of water. When I use a bronzer, I don't want to have to worry about whether or not I'll encounter any water or God forbid, sweat. I might use it in the winter when I would be less likely to encounter those situations.
Where to buy: I think this one is pretty easy to find - Sephora, St. Tropez, Amazon, drugstore.com, and Ulta, to name a few.
What do you think? Do you use bronzers? Have you used this one? Would you consider using it?
