Last Week on Instagram...Wk #8

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! I was able to go back to my hometown for a day to attend a baby shower for one of my nieces. She's expecting a baby boy in the next few weeks, and his middle name will be my dad's first name - which is really cool, because she and my dad were very close (he passed away on Christmas Day in 2008).

Here's my last week in pictures!

We finally were able to go out for Buddy's birthday dinner, so we went Yard House, which has a fantastic view of the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge. We were two tables away from the window, so the picture is a bit blurry and doesn't do it justice. Great views, and great food! I had the Korean BBQ Beef appetizer as my meal and it was delicious! I tried some of Lulu's nachos which were also quite tasty. Gus had the fish and chips - Buddy had the lamb burger - they said their food was really good, too.

On Monday, it was mani day, and boy did I need it! I just couldn't decide on a color, and ended up going with Rose Brocade. This is one of my favorite reds in the CND line. It's a very gel-like red. There's no shimmer, frost, or metallic sheen to it at all. It's just an opaque red with a high sheen, but it has almost a translucent quality to it, making it look like gel - if that makes sense. I like it a lot. As a matter of fact, I also have it in Vinylux at home. The lighting is off a bit in this picture because the red is really a true, clear red.

I love happy mail, so it was a good day when my February Sephora Play! box arrived. This month included:
I know I've said it before, but Sephora Play! is such a great deal! For just $10/month, you get an awesome selection of products in great sizes (sometimes it's even full-size!)

On Wednesday, there was a gratuitous plug for that day's blog post about Dr. Brandt's Age Erasers. You can read my review here. I like to try different anti-aging products because there are some good ones out there. I haven't come across any miracle products yet, but there are definitely some that can slow the signs of aging.

Dr. Brandt Age Erasers: Needles No More 3-D Filler Mask - a leave-on mask that claims to restore volume and contours, making skin smoother! Check out my review after using it for 2+ weeks!

More happy mail! The Plaid Barn had a special deal on washi tape, so I got 10 rolls for $7.98 ($11.48 shipped). They picked the colors, but I wasn't disappointed. The only one that I probably won't use is the wood grain one. I was happy to get some orange and pink!

Awesome washi tape haul from The Plaid Barn! You can never have too much washi tape or too many pairs of shoes!

On Friday, I made a quick run to Meijer because they have the best selection of drugstore makeup in our area. I picked up another bottle of my favorite drugstore foundation, and a few other items that I've been wanting to try. So keep an eye out for the reviews coming up on the blog! I grabbed:

Saturday was the baby shower, and of course, I had to spend some time with my great-niece, Princess Izzy. We were having a serious discussion about shoes. She already has quite the collection, so I know she is going to love going shoe shopping with Aunt Kim. I just bought her first pair of pink sparkly Toms - I can't wait to give them to her!

Speaking of shoes - my shoes in the picture are by Topshop, and I bought them at Nordstrom. They're still available, but only in limited sizes. They're also full price now, and I grabbed mine when they were 50% off. I think they're so cute! I ordered my regular size, and they were a bit snug the first time I wore them, but they stretched a bit and are more comfortable now. I'm also going to put moleskin on the inside of the back to keep it from rubbing on my heel. But I'm thrilled that this style is trending now because they're so cute - I need more!

My blouse in the picture is from Banana Republic. It's one of my favorites! It's a black polyester/rayon, and the back is solid, while the front is a sheer black check print. It has a button front with a covered placket, rounded hem that's slightly longer in the back, and a banded collar. The sleeves are full-length, I just have them rolled back in the photo. I don't see it on the Banana Republic website, so it must not be available any longer, but this dot-print blouse is similar.
