Last Week on Instagram...wk #2

Instagram was full of resolutions last week. I don't do resolutions. As a person who usually lives a low carb/low sugar lifestyle, coming off the carb/sugar high of the holidays is not a good time to be making life decisions. Or decisions of any kind. I need a week or two to detox!

So here's what I was up to last week on Instagram ('cause I wasn't making resolutions):

On Sunday, I shared this photo of what has quickly become my go-to everyday booties of the season. I love them! They're so comfortable! I picked these up in November at the Nine West outlet as part of a buy one get one 50% off deal. The style is called Laynao (maybe the "o"at the end is for "outlet"?), and they are leather/suede. I'm wearing a size 6.5, which is my usual size. I didn't see them on the Nine West website, but they look exactly like the Nine West Lillian Chelsea style shown on the DSW site that sells for $79.95. I noticed the Lillian Chelsea on DSW has a couple of bad reviews saying the sole is coming off. I've worn mine many, many times and the soles have been fine so far. I think they were around $60, and I paid $30.

Nine West Laynao booties from the outlet store - most comfortable booties ever!

On Monday, Gus, Buddy, and I went to the shooting range for a little while, and I shared this picture of me taking a little target practice. We each own our own handgun - Gus and Buddy both have a Smith & Wesson M&P™ 9C, and I have a Glock 43. I have to tell you about those jeggings I'm wearing in the photo! Even though they call them jeggings, they have a waistband and zipper just like jeans. They're fabulous. They're the a.n.a® Jeggings from JCPenney in True Indigo in size 8P, but I have since discovered that I should've sized down because they do run just a tiny bit big, and then they also stretch out easily. I can wear the 8P, but I have to wear a belt and I can only wear them once and then they have to go in the wash. But the petite length (28") is perfect for me, and I love having a pair of jeans I don't have to roll up. They're also really comfortable and they look good. I have them in black, too - and that fabric doesn't seem to stretch out quite as much as the denim. They're regularly $44/pair. I snagged mine for $19.99 each, used a $10 off $25 coupon and a $10 reward, so I only paid $20 for both pairs! Score!! As soon as they're on sale again, I'm buying a 6P!

Target practice at the gun range. I use a Glock 43 with a Strike Industries magazine extender+2. I'm wearing my favorite jeggings from JCPenney!

On Tuesday, I went for a much-needed manicure. I shared this picture of my nails afterward - I'm wearing CND Shellac in Indigo Frock, which is a denim blue cream polish that is part of the Modern Folklore Collection. It's one of my favorite fall and winter mani colors! It's such a pretty grayish blue that is dark without being too dark, if that makes sense. (It's also available in their Vinyluxpolish, so you can get that color at home!) Of course, I took my new Kate Spade bag along for the salon day. I think she enjoyed it. My Kate Spade bag is the Cove Street Provence, which is no longer available. It was originally $428, but Gus picked it up during the yearly sale for just $149!

Mani day! One of my favorite fall/winter colors - CND Indigo Frock! Love my new Kate Spade bage, too!

On Wednesday, I had to run a ton of errands, and as I was getting ready, I noticed that my eyebrows and eyelashes were showing a lot of new growth! So exciting! I've been using a new drugstore product on them that is less than $10 & I'll be sharing a review on the blog soon!

In the background, you can see my Sun and Shadow turtleneck sweater from Nordstrom. This is that super-popular sweater that has been all over fashion blogs this winter. I love it! I got a S, and it was still too big, so this junior sweater is sized very generously. It has a touch of wool in it, so when I washed mine, I put it in the dryer on very low heat for a bit and shrank it just a little. It fits much better now. Last time I checked, it was out of stock (again) but hopefully, they'll restock. It usually sells for $54, but I grabbed mine during the Black Friday sale and only paid $24.
Makeup: Foundation: Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation (in ivory); Blush: tarte Unleashed (from the Rainforest After Dark palette); Eyeshadow: Urban Decay/Gwen Stefani palette - Blonde highlight & inner half of lid, Baby outer half of lid, Anaheim crease and outer vee, Punk upper lashline; Lips: Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Mauve Shimmer, MAC Utter Pervette (no longer available) to center of lips

I can't wait to share my blog post about the drugstore product I've been using on my lashes and brows - they're showing a lot of new growth!

On Thursday, I shared a photo from that day's blog post about boscia's Luminizing Black Mask - a peel-off mask that I got from Sephora using some of my VIB Rouge points. I don't usually use peel-off masks, and I had never used one that adhered to my skin as well as this one. I experienced a little burning and tearing in my eyes from the rosemary and eucalyptus in it when I first applied it (even though I was careful to keep it away from my eye area), but luckily that went away. My skin felt really soft and smooth once the mask was removed, but I think if I use it in the future, I'll probably just treat specific areas of my face rather than put it all over.

I did a product review on this peel-off Luminizing Black Mask from boscia - this one really adheres to your skin!

On Friday, I actually shared two pictures. One was a picture of my lashes with and without Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara. I received the Marc Jacobs VoxBox from Influenster, so I posted the photo as part of earning my badge! It's a nice mascara, and I love the tube, but over the long term, it's a little too wet for my lashes and tends to pull the curl out of them.

I received the Marc Jacobs Beauty VoxBox with the Velvet Noir Mascara- love the lux look of the tube!

The second picture on Friday was my happy mail! I had two packages, and when I opened them, I started laughing. One was this gorgeous, dainty, feminine Arrow Drop necklace from Stella and Dot. This is another reversible necklace - pavé on one side and silver on the other - love it! I'm sure I'll be posting better photos of it in the future. And the other wasn't girly at all, depending upon your definition of girly. That package was for my Glock - magazine extensions that also increase the number of rounds I can load by two. If you don't know what that means, it basically means that it makes the grip of my gun a bit longer and instead of holding 6 bullets, it now holds 8. If you're interested in that sort of thing, they are made by Strike Industries and I purchased mine from Wing Tactical.

Happy mail that shows girls can be pretty and feminine and still kick ass.

I didn't post a picture on Saturday, but that's okay - I posted two on Friday! LOL! I love Instagram, and I love seeing your photos! If you enjoyed this post and aren't already following me on Instagram, I'd love to connect with you!
