According to the package, they reduce shock by 40%, and:
- Help prevent pain
- Triple zone protection
- Designed for athletes
- Ball of foot: padding to improve cushioning
- Arch: reinforced to support foot
- Heel: deep heel cup to absorb impact with every step
- SweatMAX technology helps eliminate odor
The first thing I noticed was that they're bright pink - my favorite color! It's fate! We're destined to be together!! (Don't worry - the mens' version is blue!) And how cool is this? You remove the insoles from your current athletic shoes, lay them on the Dr. Scholl's® Active Series® Insoles, trace around the end, and trim them to fit with an ordinary pair of scissors! Then you just pop them right inside your shoes. In just a couple of minutes, you have custom-fit insoles!
But do they work?
Due to chronic back pain, I certainly don't consider myself an athlete, but I do like to try to get some exercise by walking - either outside or on the treadmill. After equipping my shoes with the Dr. Scholl's® Active Series® Insoles, I was really surprised at how much better my feet felt. They were still tired, but hey, don't judge - I'm almost 52 - my feet get tired easily. But I didn't have shin splints or heel pain!
I love how the heel is soft and cushioned, but the arch is firmer to give more support. I have high arches, so I appreciate a bit of support in that area. They definitely made my shoes more comfortable right away. Custom orthotics can run upwards of $300, and aren't covered by insurance, so these are quite a bargain at under $20. I would definitely consider repurchasing when the need arises.
