Clinique Pore Minimizer

I've always had visible pores, but as I get older, as is often the case, they're even more noticeable.

SOAPBOX MOMENT: It is sooo not fair that as you get older, you still have to deal with breakouts - plus wrinkles, sun-damage, dry areas, enlarged pores, bags & circles under your eyes (when you never had them before), and saggy skin. Isn't it enough that you're getting older? Why does all that have to happen, too? Geez. At least take away the breakouts. SOAPBOX MOMENT OVER...

I saw this product on Makeup Geek, listed as one of her favorite skin primers.

A full-size Clinique Pore Minimizer comes in a 0.5 oz. tube for $20. They offer three colors (lightest to darkest): Invisible Bright, Invisible Light, Invisible Dark.

From the Clinique website: "Look smooth and virtually flawless with pores that appear more than 50% smaller—instantly. Natural-looking matte finish lasts up to 8 hours. Resists sweat, humidity. In two skin tone shades or Invisible Bright for subtle brightening."

Because of my pores, I've tried a lot of makeup primers. Most have left my skin like an oil-slick after a couple of hours. Some clogged my pores. Some didn't work well with my makeup. Others just didn't work at all.

I wanted to try it, but I didn't want to pay $20 - just in case I didn't like it (which unfortunately, happens quite frequently with me and products that other people love). So I put on my thinking cap and tried to think of a way to get a sample. Yes, I could go to Macy's, Sephora, or Nordstrom, but I didn't want to. Yes, it was because I'm too lazy.

eBay!!!

I was able to find one of those "free gift with purchase"-sized samples for $7 shipped. It's the perfect size to try the product - and better than those little packets that Clinique gives out at the counter. It will last for awhile and you can recap it to keep it fresh.

This product totally rocks!!

Things I love about this product:
  • It only takes a tiny amount to smooth out skin texture.
  • There's no discernible odor/fragrance.
  • It doesn't clog my pores.
  • It doesn't make my skin oily.
  • So far, it has worked well with several foundations.

I highly recommend this product if you're interested in a makeup primer. If you're too lazy to it's not convenient for you to get to a store that sells Clinique, and you want to try a sample, be sure to check out eBay.
