D-I-Y Flat Fabric & Button Flowers

One of my favorite crafty blogs is A Spoonful of Sugar. So many cute tutorials! I fell in love with their adorable Flat Fabric Flowers, and I knew I wanted to make them - and use them in another (upcoming) project.

Since they have a lovely tutorial on their site, I'm not going to type it all out - you can just click here to see theirs. But I will share step-by-step pictures of my project!

I had purchased some Home Decor fabric from Jo-Ann's for that upcoming project - and I had enough left over to make the flat button flowers to coordinate. Yay!

I wanted the flowers to be fairly small, so I used the top of a Starbucks Frappuccino® bottle and a large button to trace the circles for the "petals" (and the felt circles for the backs).

After cutting them out, I folded them all in half...

Then I layered them onto the felt circle as described in the tutorial.

A tiny stitch through each folded circle held them in place, then I added two buttons to the center.

That's all there was to it - super quick, easy, and the results are adorable!

I can't wait to show you how I'm using them in a soon-to-be-posted craft project!
