My Prime Day 2019 Picks from Amazon!

My Prime Day 2019 Picks from Amazon!

Don't you love the deals at Amazon? And Prime Day makes them even better! Here's what I picked up, what I love, and what I really, really want!

(I am an Amazon Affiliate. This post contains affiliate links which were added to make it easier for you to find the items. If you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you). You are free to use the links or not - if you do, I thank you!)

First up, what I've purchased so far:

Instant Pot Duo - I've been wanting an Instant Pot for almost a year, so when I saw the one we wanted for just less than half the original price, we had to get it. It arrived on Sunday, and we used it Sunday night for a pot roast and veggies. AMAZING!! And it didn't heat up my kitchen, which is awesome because it was 90 degrees out! If you prefer the slightly fancier version, it's just a few dollars more.

I grabbed this Travel Makeup Train Case when it was a lightning deal, and I can't wait to get it! It's no longer on the deal list (although you can still save by clicking on the coupon), but this one is very, very similar. At this price, it's a steal!

Don't laugh. Yes, I bought the Poo-Pourri when it was a lightning deal. Ha! The one I bought is gone, but there are other options here.

What's on my list:

What a fantastic deal on the Echo Dot!! We have two Echos (one on the first floor and one in the basement), so this would be perfect to add to our bedroom.

The deal of the day is the Amazon Fire Stick. (Less than half price, people!) We have a smart TV in the living room, but the bedroom TVs are older, so this would be great for watching Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video.

We've been talking about getting the Amazon Ring for the front door. We have a doorbell, but it would be nice to actually see who is there (so we don't have to hide out and peek through the blinds). Yes. I do that.

If you're like me, you probably have a lot of makeup. I love this makeup carousel. It would be perfect for my most-used makeup and would fit right on my makeup table!

Here are some other deals that I love!
Silicone mats and baking pans
Air fryers
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water (love this stuff!)
Southern Keto Cookbook ($5 off with PRIMEBOOK19)

Happy Shopping!!

What Moms Want for Mother's Day!

What Moms Want for Mother's Day!

Can you believe there are less than three weeks until Mother's Day? I used to spend a lot of time worrying about what to get my mom. Should it be a sentimental gift? Something she will use frequently? Something totally impractical but that she will love?

There are no wrong choices when it comes to a Mother's Day gift. As a mom, I can say that it's really about knowing that my kids love me. Now that my kids are adults, I love when they give me the gift of their time.

But that doesn't mean that I don't love gifts - because who doesn't love gifts, am I right? So I've rounded up a few things that would make any Mom/Grandma smile!

gift ideas for mom

1) I love these delicate little bracelets! I found these in RustikHeart's shop on Etsy, and I think they are so cute. The different beads represent dots and dashes in Morse Code! You can spell out your message, and it will come with a card showing what the code represents. I especially love that the bracelet is finished with a chain and clasp, so it's a little more elegant.

2) When my kids were little, I had a necklace that had those little "stick figure" charms with the birthstones as the body. So cute! These mom and grandma necklaces reminded me of those, and I think they're really pretty! These are from powderandjade's Etsy shop.

3) Who doesn't love a set of great makeup brushes? Beauty Junkees eyeshadow brushes are awesome! This set includes lid and angled brow shading brushes, two blending brushes, round pencil brush, crease brush, flat definer brush, eyeliner brush, and a storage case. There are also several promotions for Beauty Junkees products on Amazon (5% off 2 items, 10% off 3, 12% off 4, etc).

4) Does your mom or grandma have an iPhone? Erin Condren has some really cute cases that match their planner covers, but they also have one that you can custom design with a photo! Available for iPhone 6/6S, 6/6S Plus, 7, and 7 Plus. If you are a new Erin Condren customer, you can use my referral link to save $10 - you click on the link, fill out the info, then they email you a code to use on your order.

5) This mug is the cutest! It comes in four colors, so there's sure to be one your mom/grandma will love! You could also add a tea gift set and/or some whole bean coffee or Keurig cups!

6) I would love to have a Willow Tree nativity, but I also think these Mother and Son, Mother and Daughter, and Mother with Son and baby figures are so sweet.

7) I'm a big fan of cute t-shirts, and I think most moms (and grandmas) would be, too. This #momlife tee from MyRusticPlace on Etsy is one of my favorites, but there are many more from which to choose!

8) One of my favorite types of gifts to receive is electronics. I know - I'm a nerd. We got an Amazon Echo last year, and I use it everyday. So easy to set up and use!

9) You know I love jewelry, so I couldn't resist adding these little spring bracelets with a heart charm. They're made of flexible stainless steel and can even be worn in the water.

10) These bath bombs (set of 12) are made with non-GMO gluten free Shea/cocoa butters, sunflower oil, sea salts and essential oils - plus they offer a 60 day money back guarantee. Give mom a set of these and a coupon book for an hour of "me time"!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and grandmas out there!

What's your favorite Mother's Day gift?

Christmas gift ideas for her!

Christmas gift ideas for her!

Black Friday. Cyber Monday. I'm exhausted - how about you? The holidays will be here before we know it - can you believe Christmas is less than 3 weeks away?

(This post was sponsored by OnecklaceAll opinions are honest and strictly my own.)

I do about 90% of my holiday shopping online. I hate traffic, crowds, and standing in line, and lately it seems like my local stores never have what I'm looking for anyway. Shopping online saves me time, money - I can almost always find what I'm looking for - and I don't even need to get dressed!

While there are always a few new items that catch my eye each year, I usually fall back on the tried and true when I'm choosing gifts for the ladies on my list. Something I think you can never go wrong with is jewelry, and I think most women feel the same! Who doesn't love to open a gift to find a little sparkle and bling?

Layered necklaces are trendy right now, and I love them! One of my favorites is this sterling silver starry sky necklace - it is so pretty! It's versatile, too. I can wear it as-is, or I can add an extender to make it longer, so it really works with a lot of different tops. Priced at just $39.95, it would be a perfect gift for ages 18-81!

If you're looking for a more personal gift, engraved jewelry fits the bill! The Roman numerals on this engraved bar necklace are my wedding date. I love it so much! I've received a lot of compliments on it. I have the sterling silver version ($39.95), but you can also choose 24K Gold Plated ($44.95), or Rose Gold Plated ($44.95). Not only can you customize it with any date, but you can also choose the length and style of the chain.

This necklace isn't engraved in the traditional sense. Instead, the letters are delicately laser-cut into the metal. I love it with the box chain!

There are so many necklace options at Onecklace! Fingerprints, Braille, signature (handwriting), birthstones, names, dates, different languages - and the prices are reasonable. As I mentioned above, most necklaces give you the option of choosing the type and length of the chain. I love the linked hearts necklace and this chevron birthstone necklace. They also have some of the cutest Mother jewelry I've seen! You may remember my post from April about the Family Tree of Life necklace that coordinates with my tattoo. It's one that I find myself reaching for quite often!

They also have bracelets, rings, and earrings. Orders are shipped free worldwide (first class mail in the US) and you have 60 days for returns or exchanges. Each piece of jewelry comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and you have the option of adding a gift box and bag for $4.95.

A fix for those darn iPhone/iPad charging cables...

A fix for those darn iPhone/iPad charging cables...

I know I usually talk about beauty and fashion, but I recently bought these awesome little gadgets and I just had to share them with you! This is not a sponsored post, I just think they're awesome.  (Update 10/1/16: I purchased this product and wrote this blog post without any affiliation with The Grommet. However, after I published the post, I became an affiliate. All that means is that I can use direct links to help you find their products (as well as banners and ads), and if you click on those links and make a purchase, it doesn't cost you any more, but I receive a very small commission. You are free to use the links or not. If you do, I thank you!)

Have you heard of the website, The Grommet? I love it! They find some of the most amazing and interesting products. Over the past few years, I've bought several things from them. A couple of weeks ago, I saw these fantastic little Tudia: Klip Cable Protector Set of 5 that fit over the vulnerable areas of your iPhone/iPad charging cord to prevent it from bending so that it won't fray! Why didn't I think of that??

Product review: Tudia Klip Cable Protectors - finally, something that protects the vulnerable areas of your Apple charging cords so they don't bend and fray! I love these!

I've been an iPhone and iPad owner for several years now. I love them, but my biggest complaint is with the charging cables. Every one I've had, after a period of time (and really not that long), has started to fray where the cord meets the connectors - at both ends.

I'm not rough with my cords. I take good care of them. I've tried taping them to prevent damage. Once I even tried that trick where you use a spring from a pen to stabilize the cord - nope, didn't really work. Nothing I've tried works! Do you other iPhone/iPad owners have this problem?

The Tudia: Klip Cable Protector is available as a single pair for iPhone/iPad ($7), two pair for MacBook Pro with Retina display ($12.95), or five pairs ($22.95) for iPhone/iPad. I purchased the set of five pairs so that I could share them with everyone in my family.

Tudia Klip Cable Protectors work on Apple Lightning, Apple 30-pin, and Apple Watch charging cables!

They're so easy to put on the cords! You just slide the little white holder cap thingy (technical term) off,

open up the colored tubey thing (also a technical term), slide it onto the cord,

Tudia Klip Cable Protectors are so easy to put on your Apple charging cables!

then snap the white holder cap thingy back on! It's genius!

Tudia Klip Cable Protectors - finally, something that protects the vulnerable areas of your Apple charging cords so they don't bend and fray! I love these!

Before you ask, they had a Q&A session on The Grommet, and a lot of people wanted to know if these would fit on various other cords. They said these protectors were specifically made for Apple Lightning, Apple 30-pin, and Apple Watch charging cables - but - if your cord is a similar size, it may fit.

This store has so many cool things!! I'm eyeing the PawPlunger (I hate muddy paw prints on my floors, the TNK: Barracuda Kitchen Multitool, and I already have a Hot Iron Holster: Heat-Resistant Silicone Holder, but I need to get one for my daughter - they're great for your flatiron!

Have you ever shopped at The Grommet?
Don't you wish Apple would make their cords a little sturdier? I still have my original iPod charging cable from 10+ years ago - why can't the iPhone and iPad cables last that long?

The perfect gift for the woman who has everything!

The perfect gift for the woman who has everything!

As some of you already know, I love having fresh flowers in my home, and almost always have some near my desk where I can enjoy them as I work. Not only do they brighten the room, but they make me smile when I look up and see them.

bouquet of roses

This post was sponsored by BloomsyBox.
All opinions are honest and strictly my own.

A couple of weeks ago, I found a bright red box on my front porch, and inside were two dozen rosebuds, in mixed colors, courtesy of BloomsyBox. What a nice way to start the day!

BloomsyBox flowers

I love that BloomsyBox includes a card with care instructions for the flowers. And there's no need to worry if there are a few petals that are wilted or a little brown - you can just gently remove those outer petals without harming the rest of the flower!

BloomsyBox bouquet

Aren't they beautiful in a vase? And the fragrance - oh my gosh - just lovely!

BloomsyBox roses

After a couple of days, they were even more gorgeous! Just look at those colors!

roses

If you've never heard of BloomsyBox, let me tell you a little about them. They're a subscription service that delivers handpicked, single-variety bouquets to your door for $34.99, $38.99, or $48.99 per month. Those prices include overnight shipping to the US. Once you choose a bouquet size, you then choose a subscription plan - month-to-month, 3 month pre-pay, 6 month pre-pay, or 12 month pre-pay. You do save a bit by choosing one of the prepaid plans. All of the plans auto-renew, but you may cancel at any time.

You really can find something for every budget - and what a fantastic gift for someone special in your life! If you have someone (like my mother-in-law) who has everything, needs nothing, but you still want to surprise them and show them how much they are loved, this could be the perfect gift.

I just have to mention, too, that these roses lasted 10 days. Usually when I get roses, I'm lucky if they last 3-4 days before they're drooping and losing petals. Below is a photo of my BloomsyBox roses on Day 8 - they don't look much different than they did on Day 2!

bouquet of roses

I was curious to see how the price of this bouquet compared to similar bouquets (I was told this was a Bloomsy M bouquet, priced at $38.99 at BloomsyBox), so I did a quick price comparison at some online florists. One offered two dozen mixed color roses (but the colors were only red, yellow, white, and light pink) for $49.99, but charged $29.98 for shipping, for a total of $79.97! Another didn't offer mixed roses. A third charged $49.99 (sale price) for the roses (but the colors were only red, yellow, orange, and pink), included a clear vase, and charged a $29.99 "service fee" for a total of $79.98. These three companies were all companies that I have ordered flowers from in the past. I could easily have sent two bouquets from BloomsyBox for what I paid for one bouquet at these other places - and the quality of the BloomsyBox flowers were superior, and there were more colors as well. I will definitely be considering them as a gift option in the future.

To keep up with the latest on BloomsyBox, follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Mother's Day gift idea & discount code!

Mother's Day gift idea & discount code!

If you've been around {enjoy the view} for very long, then you know that I love jewelry. And I especially love jewelry that represents a special person or event in my life - or my Scottish heritage. Jewelry that tugs on my heart strings is going to be worn a lot more than anything else in my jewelry collection.

When Onecklace.com contacted me about a partnership, I had a really difficult time choosing a necklace! They have so many lovely pieces, all of which can be customized, and many which can be personalized. I ended up choosing the Sterling Silver Family Tree of Life Necklace.

 round family tree necklace

I love the quote on the second disc: "Family like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one."

tree of life necklace on table

As some of you know, I recently got two (more) tattoos. One is a Celtic Tree of Life on my left forearm, and the other is a Celtic heart on my left wrist. The tree represents my family, both past and present, and there is a heart in the center of the trunk which represents my children. The heart on my wrist is for my husband. So you can see why the family tree necklace spoke to my heart!

Celtic tree of life tattoo

This particular necklace isn't customized with names, initials, or birthstones, but I was still able to choose the chain style and length. I prefer a slightly longer necklace, so I went with a 20" length (other length choices are 14", 16", 18", and 22") and the box chain (the other chain option is a rolo chain).

necklace

As you can see, it's a beautiful piece! I love that the discs are a nice size- not too big, but big enough to really be noticed. They measure just a little over an inch in diameter. As I mentioned, my necklace is sterling silver, so each piece is stamped with ".925".

When you place an order with Onecklace, each item is made to your specifications. They have necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings, and offer four different materials: sterling silver, 24k gold plated, 14k gold, and 14k white gold (not all types of jewelry are available in every material). The item also come in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity, and you can choose to include a gift bag if you like.

necklace in a gift box

They offer a best price guarantee, free shipping worldwide, and you have 60 days for returns and exchanges! They can also personalize your jewelry in other languages as long as you can send them a sample of the writing and letters.

Some of the other beautiful necklaces that caught my eye:
This Silver Engraved Swirl Mother Necklace can be engraved with up to six names- I love the heart!

necklace with children's names

This Sterling Silver Signature Bar Nameplate Necklace is so special! You could have your child's handwriting, your significant other, a parent or grandparent - the possibilities are endless!

Mother's Day is coming up soon, so if you're looking for a gift (or need to drop a hint for your own gift!), Onecklace is a great place to shop. There are a lot of really cute options for graduation gifts, too. And to make your shopping experience even better, Onecklace.com is offering my readers a 10% discount on any order with the code enjoy10!

Happy shopping!
