Today I'm reviewing Yes to Blueberries Facial Cleansing Towelettes. This is part of the "Yes to..." line. They have:
Yes to Carrots - "Nourishing", perfect for normal-to-dry skin
Yes to Cucumbers - "Soothing", for sensitive skin
Yes to Tomatoes - "Clear Skin", for combination or acne-prone skin
Yes to Blueberries - "Age Refresh", treats fine lines & nourishes age-damaged skin
Yes to Grapefruit - "Correct & Repair", for uneven skin tone
Since I have "mature" skin (good grief, that's even painful to type!), I chose the Blueberry. I picked up a travel-size packet of 8 cleansing towelettes at Target for around $3.
The first thing I noticed upon opening the package and removing the first wipe was that it was almost dry to the touch. The package was completely sealed, so I don't think they were dried out - I think that's just how they are. My first thought was "how in the world is this going to remove any makeup if it's almost dry?"...
I scrubbed my face with it - a bit harder than I would have normally rubbed, but it wasn't doing much until I applied more pressure. That can't be good for aging skin (or skin of any age). It did remove more of my makeup than I expected, but only after I rubbed really hard...
Then I took one of my DIY makeup remover pads and ran it lightly over my face - just to see how much makeup was left, if any. And this is what I saw:
And it looked like that on both sides of the pad!
The Yes to Blueberries towelette left an enormous amount of makeup behind - and that is simply unacceptable.
Repurchase? I wouldn't buy this product again. Not only that, but my experience with the towelettes makes me very leery of trying any of their other products. I've heard fairly good things about them, but I don't like to throw my money away. Maybe if I could find trial or sample sizes, I could be convinced to try some of the other products. Maybe.
Have you tried this product or any of their other products? How did they work for you? Would you repurchase?
(Disclaimer: I did not receive any type of compensation for this post. I purchased the product myself, and my opinions, as always, are 100% my own.)
