Duck Tape® + Walmart = Back-to-School!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I can’t believe that summer is almost over and it’s back-to-school time again! You might remember that my daughter, Lulu, was recently accepted into Pharmacy school after attending a local university for the past four years. And she just moved into her own apartment. It's the ultimate back-to-school adventure!

duck tape + walmart = back-to-school

Helping her with her back-to-school shopping reminded me of when I was in college and lived in the dorm. I think everyone shopped at the same store, because we all had the same towels, storage containers, office supplies, etc. When I saw the Duck Tape® display at Walmart, a lightbulb went on! What a great way to make sure your stuff doesn't get mixed up with your roommate’s – or even personalize/decorate your apartment or dorm room without making any permanent changes (that might cost you money to repair)!

You can get a 10 yard roll (that goes a long way!) of Duck Tape at Walmart for just a little over $3! I checked the price at a few other places, and Walmart was by far the least expensive. There are some licensed character/logo tapes that cost a bit more, but they’re very reasonable, too. They even have NFL and college logos! Save money - buy Duck Tape at Walmart!!

Is there anything more versatile than Duck Tape®? I don't think so! I came up with a few back-to-school projects for the college student - and they are so easy, anyone can do them! And they literally cost pennies!

The first project is Personalizing Your iPhone Charger. Everyone has an iPhone these days, right? You have one, your roommate has one, five of your girlfriends, and a bunch of the guys - when you're pulling an all-nighter, you need to know which charger is yours! All you need is a strip of Duck Tape® about 3-4 inches long, a pair of scissors, and your phone charger. (I used my non-stick scissors – they’re awesome!)

First, I wrapped the tape around the plug, then trimmed it with the scissors. That’s it! Then I used the scrap piece I just cut off to wrap around the other two sections. Too cute!

The next project is Quick Easy Wall Art, and involves an artist’s canvas or foam board (although you can adjust the tape on a canvas, but once it’s on the foam board, it’s there to stay). You just add pieces of tape in a way that is pleasing to your eye and you have some wall art! You can hang it with a strip that won’t mar the wall or you can just prop it on a shelf.

You can also personalize planners, notebooks, binders, or folders. Use a different tape for each class. Cut them into shapes or letters. Decorate your bathroom storage - Duck Tape® is waterproof! You can even make a lanyard or keychain - and use the Duck Tape® that has your school logo on it. You could decorate curling/flat irons, hair dryers, or in an emergency, use it to fix the hem on your pants! I can’t think of another product that can be used for so many different things! Have fun with it - and use your imagination!

So be sure to add Duck Tape® to your back-to-school shopping list, whether you have preschoolers or college-aged kids. It’s the best $3 you’ll spend!
