Oopsie...

Gus and I recently went back to Gatlinburg for a few days, and the first night we were there, I had a little mishap while trying to get ready to go to the Christmas show at the Smoky Mountain Opry...

I travel with my old makeup mirror, which has two side mirrors that flip open - but the mirror on the right side tends to fall off from time to time. And no, I have no idea why I don't just take it off and leave it off.

So after dinner, I was trying to spruce up my makeup and hair a little before we left for the show. That's when it happened...

I was already wearing mascara, but I decided that it needed a touch-up. Since I have short, stubby lashes, I thought I would try to curl them a little more before adding additional mascara. In hindsight, that wasn't such a great idea...

As I was curling the lashes on my right eye, the right side of the makeup mirror decided to crash to the floor, scaring the begeezus out of me - which caused me to jerk my right hand - and because there was already mascara on my eyelashes, they stuck to the curler, which then pulled out half of the eyelashes on my right eye.

Yep. Right before the show. Right before the holidays. No lashes on the right side of my right eye because of the right side mirror. Right.

Trying to look on the bright side, I have discovered these things about less lashes:
  1. It's healthier - I now weigh less because I have less eyelashes.
  2. It saves time - I require less time to apply & remove my makeup.
  3. It's economical - I use less mascara.
  4. I have a new appreciation for my eyelashes - any lashes are better than no lashes.
And in case you're thinking "Oh, that's not a big deal - just wear some false lashes!" - well, I would if I could...but the adhesive makes my eyelids swell. Not a good look for me. Apparently there is such a thing as non-latex adhesive, but I have so far been unable to find it anywhere.

So I'm just going to rock my unique look. Maybe I'll start a new trend.
